A Prayer for New Beginnings

A Prayer for New Beginnings

A Prayer for New Beginnings

The internet is buzzing with New Year’s wishes and I don’t want to stay behind but giving a plain greeting doesn’t feel right. In the last couple of years we have grown so close through the posts and the comments, mails and because of our entire social media connections. In honor of this beautiful relationship where we are trying to grow together and build a better life I want to share something nice with you.

While we all are planning new adventures to take on in the new year I would like to say a prayer with you and wish us all to achieve all the dreams we dare to dream and much more. In my post “3 Mistakes you are probably making while you Pray” I have shared a small prayer mentioned by bestselling author ‘Marianne Williamson’ in an interview. I would to remind you the simple but very meaningful prayer that we can say everyday or every morning to the higher power we believe in.

• Where would you have me go?
• What would you have me do?
• What would you have me say and to whom?

This prayer was appreciated by many and taking your response as an inspiration I would like to share a longer prayer with you. A prayer I hope brings you the good luck, health, happiness and fortunes in this beautiful New Year. So please read it aloud and refer it to the you believe in. Let that divine force be your guide and help you have a very fruitful year ahead. Let us not forget to be grateful for all our gifts and opportunities we were blessed with in the last year.

Dear God,

We place in your hands our burdens and our questions and our responsibilities,
We place in your hands our debts and our assets,
We place in your hands our fears about money and work, and
We place in your hands our visions and our prayers and our hopes for money and work,
This and then all things dear God we pray to be lifted to the highest level of divine order,
May we be who you would have us be, that we might do what you would have us do,
May our work in the world dear God be more than just a Job may it be a calling,
As I surrender myself and ask that I may be used by you,
That whatever I do be it for the love that uplifts all things,
May the brilliance and the genius that is your spirit within us move through me,
in collaboration with the genius moving through everyone else to create the most beautiful world.
Thank You.

Happy New Year! May this year bring immense happiness, great health, peace and prosperity in our lives.

Money Beliefs: Rich Mind vs. Poor Mind

Money Beliefs: Rich Mind vs. Poor Mind

Money Beliefs: Rich Mind vs. Poor Mind

“Bless that which you want. If you see a person with a beautiful home, bless that person and bless that home. If you see a person with a beautiful car, bless that person and bless that car. If you see a person with a loving family, bless that person and bless that family. If you see a person with a beautiful body, bless that person and bless their body.”— T. Harv Eker

What do you feel about the topic of money? Is it something you enjoy talking about or it makes you feel uncomfortable?

I have been reading and listening to life altering books and seminars by T. Harv Eker and would love to share some titbits of knowledge with the readers that are always hungry for knowledge that makes life amazing well in this particular case rich.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is one of the best works of T. Harv Eker as I said earlier it can change lives. All we need to do is study our thoughts and feelings about money and we can change our financial condition for good.

Harv like many other success couches teaches us about the power of our mind and how it is controlling everything in our life especially our financial status.

He explains this with a simple example of a tree. The fruits (Money) depend upon the quality of roots (thoughts, emotions, action). When we understand this law of nature a positive shift takes place in our life.

“If you want to change the fruits, you will first have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.” — T. Harv Eker”

Everything is energy. Money is also energy. In fact money is a result of our Mental, Emotional and Spiritual condition.

Thought leads to Feeling leads to Action which leads to Result.

Let us understand how our thoughts can make us rich or poor. Let us notice the different beliefs of a rich mind and a poor mind. If you are struggling financially may be you need to notice your beliefs and make some healthy changes. I hope the below given examples help you as much as they helped me.

Rich Mind Vs. Poor Mind

Rich Mind Vs. Poor Mind

1) Rich Mind thinks (I create my life) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Life happens to me)

A rich mind believes in creating own life with his/her own thoughts and decisions on the other hand the poor mind believes life happens to him/her.

This single belief controls the destiny of our life. If we believe we create our life then we have control to get us out of any unwanted situation by controlling our thoughts, emotions and actions around that situation.

2) Rich Mind thinks (There is no rich victim) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Victim: Blame, Justify & Complain)

Rich Minds try to learn a lesson from any adverse situation. They never ever see themselves as a victim.

However Poor Minds enjoy the attention or sympathy they receive from being a victim. They blame everyone and everything else for their troubles, they justify their failures and they complain about everything and everyone.

Harv warns his students against blaming, justifying or complaining. He says; “Whenever one blames, justifies or complains s/he slits his/her financial throat.”

What we focus on expands. Complainers become a giant crap magnet.

Harv suggests his student to take on a challenge – 7 Days without any complains. Miraculous things can happen if you can spend 7 days or more without a single complain about anything. You cannot blame or complain out loud or even in your mind. If you find yourself doing it unconsciously cancel the thought and redirect your mind to something pleasant.

3) Rich Mind thinks (Goal is to get rich) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Goal is to get comfortable)

A rich person tries to get or stay rich and he does not care about comfort or convince or if things are difficult.

A poor person looks for easy, comfortable and hopes on getting rich by staying in his comfort zone.

“If you are willing to do only what’s easy, life will be hard. But if you are willing to do what’s hard, life will be easy.” — T. Harv Eker

4) Rich Mind thinks (Play to Win) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Play not to Lose)

Every challenge is an opportunity to win for a Rich Mind. On the other hand a Poor Mind steps consciously in a challenge if s/he absolutely has to with a hope that s/he will not lose.

5) Rich Mind thinks (Everything) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Either / Or)

A Rich Mind understands that true wealth comes from abundance in all areas of life. S/he strives hard for health, happiness, family, spirituality and all major aspects of live along with wealth.

Conversely, a Poor Mind believes s/he will have to scarify his/her health or relationships or something important if s/he tries to acquire wealth.

6) Rich Mind thinks (Admire & Model) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Resent & Envy)

Rich Minds love to be in the company of other successful people. They admire the qualities that make people wealthy. They learn from influential people. They try to model methods of successful people to reach their own goals. They learn from the experiences of others and are a knowledge soaking sponge.

Poor Minds resent successful people. They avoid them and envy them. They try to find fault in them and close their minds towards any wisdom coming from them as they feel inferior to learn from others.

7) Rich Mind thinks (Bigger than their Problem) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Smaller than their Problem)

Rich Minds try to make themselves stronger and bigger than any problem they might be facing. They attack their problems armed with knowledge and dedication. They treat problems as stepping stones as they are aware that it is temporary hurdle and overcoming it will help them grow.

Poor Minds complain and make their problems bigger than they actually are. They let fear overcome them. They think about the worst outcome and try to avoid the problem. They give up great opportunities when they face hurdles.

8) Rich Mind thinks (Results) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Reasons)

A Rich Mind focuses on results. They are concerned about the goal, the end product of any act. They do not care about the hurdles as they have their eyes set on the final prize.

A Poor Mind focuses on reasons or excuses while trying to achieve any target.

9) Rich Mind thinks (Learn & Grow) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Already Knows)

A Rich Mind is constantly willing to learn and grow. A Poor Mind closes itself from anything new. It creates an attitude of already knowing enough and avoids studying.

7 Mind Traps That Steal Our Happiness – Trap 5. Procrastination

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone” — Pablo Picasso

Trap 5. Procrastination

Trap 5. Procrastination

We all procrastinate on many things even important things. I think I do it more than others and what’s worse I end up putting the most important things in my life on hold. Procrastination is a bad habit that puts a lot of unnecessary mental strain on us. I always end up regretting about wasted time. I consider this as a very strong mind trap that steals our happiness but the good news is it can be controlled.

“My advice is to never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time.” — Charles Dickens

Brain Tracy’s is one of the most famous success coaches and he talks passionately about time management. To curb my procrastination habit I took help from Brain’s Tracy’s teachings. The ABCDE Method from his book “Eat That Frog” made a significant change in my productivity and in my life. I am sure it will make a big difference for anyone who will give it a try.

Eat That Frog is simply a metaphor for tackling the most challenging task of your day. When you apply this theory all day, every day, you become a veritable power house of productivity. So not only do you have more time to do the things you love with the people you love, but you also become indispensable to your managers and employers.

What is ABCDE Method?

ABCDE Method is a genius way to organize your work or life or both. I think it is genius because it is extremely simple. All great coaches teach very simple tricks but most of these are highly effective.

In school I had a way to mark important questions or portions of my syllabus. I am sure everyone did this in their school days. Whenever the teacher hinted that this question is important or may come in your final exams I would immediately put a mark on it and while studying gave priority to these questions.

“It is easier to resist at the beginning than at the end.” — Leonardo da Vinci

Now when I am juggling responsibilities of work and home I think a trick like this can come handy. ABCDE method is exactly what I needed. As per this method in the beginning of your day make a list of things you want to accomplish that day. Most of us already have a habit of making a to-do list. The ABCDE method can help you prioritize your tasks and control procrastination.

Step 1: Brain Tracy’s tells us to think on paper. Simply put he tells us to keep a record of our ideas or plans or tasks on paper. So making a list is the first step.

Step 2: Organize the tasks by priority. Categories each item on your list into 5 categories as A, B, C, D and E.

Category A –
• The tasks that come in “A” category are your most important tasks,
• These are highly crucial for your work,
• Success or failure of your day or work depends on these tasks,
• These need your attention and you cannot delegate these to anyone else or avoid them,
• Delay in these tasks puts an adverse effect on your performance,
• These have to be done on priority and should be given enough time and attention so that they are done without any delay,
For example: Writing an article for your client, Preparing a report or Meeting your client.

Category B –
• The tasks that come in “B” category are important something that you should do,
• These tasks are not as important as your ‘A’ tasks,
• There are only minor negative consequences if it is not completed,
For example: Sending a thank you mail to your client or colleague.

Category C –
• The tasks that come in “C” category are nice to do tasks something that you should do,
• These tasks are not as important as your ‘A’ or ‘B’ tasks,
• There are no negative consequences for not completing it,
For example: Having lunch with your colleague.

Category D –
• The tasks that come in “D” category are the tasks that can be easily delegated to others,
• You can assign this task to someone else who can do the job instead of you.

Category E –
• The tasks that come in “E” category are the tasks that can be easily eliminated; whenever possible,
• You should eliminate every single unnecessary activity you possibly can, to free up your time.

When you use the A-B-C-D-E method, you can very easily sort out what is important and unimportant. This then will focus your time and attention on those items on your list that are most essential for you to do.

“You may delay, but time will not.” — Benjamin Franklin

Eleven is kind of a lucky number for me so I stopped the list at 11. The exercise of writing down things I am grateful for about my blog helped me remember how important writing is for me. It made me feel blessed and filled my hearth with the happiness that is hard to find in today’s harsh world.

I encourage you to make your own list about things you are grateful for about any part of your life. The length depends upon you. This list will uplift your spirits and make you feel so happy and content that your whole life will lean towards positivity and fulfillment.

Positive Permanent Changes – Part 3 – Resetting our Mind

Positive Permanent Changes – Part 1 – Understanding our Mind

Positive Permanent Changes – Part 3 – Resetting our Mind

In the first fast of this series “Positive Permanent Changes – Part 1 – Understanding our Mind” we tried to understand our mind and how our subconscious mind controls our life. The deep rooted beliefs and habits in the subconscious mind shape our life, our identity and our future. The second part “Positive Permanent Changes – Part 2 – How Our Mind Learns” focused on different stages of learning with example.

“The mind is powerful, and you have more control than you think.” — Scott D. Lewis

Now with so much discussion on the mind let’s try to answer some questions. Have you ever tried to do something desperately but somehow could not do it? Do you find your brain caught in an ongoing tug o’ war? Do you find your conscious mind also known as logical mind struggling to get the unconscious mind on board about something? Why does this happen? If you are like me you must have wondered why we cannot come with a reset button where we can eliminate the blockages in our mind.

“Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.” — William S. Burroughs

Actually we can reset our mind and make positive permanent changes by a very effective tool like hypnosis. Contrary to popular belief hypnosis is a safe and effective method to remove harmful and toxic beliefs rooted in our subconscious mind and replace them with positive ones that help us achieve our desires.

“You use hypnosis not as a cure but as a means of establishing a favorable climate in which to learn.” — Milton Erickson

Here is a dictionary definition of Hypnosis:

Hypnosis is the induction of a state of consciousness in which a person is highly conscious of suggestion or direction.

To go into a little more detail you could say that hypnosis is often over complicated. We use the term “hypnosis” to describe a trance like state.

However, essentially we all go in and out of mild “trances” every day; those moments when our minds wonder and we fantasize, even simply sitting down to watch television, we give our attention and enter a trance / hypnosis like state.

These are all examples of trance like states, and they are all organic and natural. Hypnosis simply puts you into one of these mild “trance” states purposefully, and gradually, as you keep getting exposed to the hypnotic suggestions of the hypnotist, your patterns of thinking and self beliefs will start to change.

Far from being asleep or unaware, hypnosis is actually a heightened state where you are both deeply relaxed yet have a heightened level of suggestibility as well as a centered awareness.

Because of this heightened mind-set you can use hypnosis to rewire yourself beliefs and patterns of thinking.

To sum up very briefly it is usually said that hypnosis gains access the subconscious mind to eliminate the negative beliefs which hinder personal progress.

What is possible?

Hypnosis is now used for the elimination of almost any adverse belief; it is used to help a wide range of health problems, and is massively effective for enhancing self beliefs such as self esteem and confidence.
I have tried out the Natural Hypnosis mp3s and they are a convenient and effective way to self hypnotize. The best part is you can try this in the comfort in your own house.

Get started with hypnosis today – the easiest way is to feel it for yourself as yes, it still is a subjective experience and results do vary. You can download 3 free self-hypnosis mp3s from Natural Hypnosis.

Best Money Advice – The Richest Man in Babylon.

 The Richest Man in Babylon

The Richest Man in Babylon

Money is the most confused necessity of life. We grow up with such mixed teachings and suggestions about money that by the time we start earning we are not sure how to invest it wisely.

The lack of clarity about money is the main reason, why most of us do not understand how to grow our finances or get out of debt and even after earning our whole life we still find it hard to have a comfortable nest egg for life after retirement.

“The Richest Man in Babylon” is one of those very few books who have successfully uncomplicated money matters for the readers. The author of this book George S. Clason has given very simple instructions about how to live a wealthy life. This book was first published in 1926 the advice is very much relevant for today’s generation.

I found this book extremely easy to follow. If you want to improve your financial condition and your habits related to money and you get dizzy when you try to read the complicated financial books with lots of charts and tables I suggest you start with this simple and engaging book like I did.

There are many more books that can further help you on your way to abundance like Think and Grow Rich, Rich Dad Poor Dad or The Science of Getting Rich and similar treasures you should collect.

One of the Teachings from The Richest Man in Babylon: 7 cures for a lean purse:

1. Start keeping 10% of all you earn:

“Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.” — Epictetus

The book suggests “A part of all I earn is mine to keep”. Pay yourself first at least 10% of all you earn. You can increase this to 20% or more as you go along in this financial journey. Always pay yourself first no matter how little or lot you earn.

2. Control your expenses:

“Too many people spend money they earned; to buy things they don’t want; to impress people that they don’t like.” — Will Rogers.

Budget your expenses. Spend less than 90% of income. As you pay yourself 10% you have to control your expenses within remaining 90%. Today we are surrounded with so much temptation to spend more than we earn by using credit or instalments or what not but we must not blindly fall prey to the luring advertisements and buy things we don’t need.

If we do have to buy some lifestyle products that have become a necessity in today’s world then I highly suggest you keep a check on discounts and sales that slash down the price low enough for us to enjoy the luxury within a budget.

I recently stumbled upon an amazing website called CupoNation which has so many great deals and coupons that can help you get lifestyle products at a very affordable price. This website is definitely a great way to save a lot of money as it is filled with many options of sales and discounts.

3. Make the money work and it’s children work:

So what to do with the 10% you pay yourself. Well invest it wisely. Take advice from someone who is good with investments. Please never consult someone about investments who is bad with their own money.

When you get returns from these investments called as your money’s children in this book make them work too. Keep on investing the 10% and it’s children so you can create multiple streams of wealth flowing towards you.

4. Secure the investment:

Most people are scared to invest money as they fear they may lose it all. With proper study we can find safe options to invest. Start small and be safe. Study opportunities in details. Don’t take risk. Invest only where the principle is safe. I cannot say this enough take advice from someone who knows about investments.

5. Own my home:

This is the most difficult cure for a lean purse as the property rates have gone so high that it seems almost impossible to be a homeowner especially in the city of Mumbai where I am based but this goal should be a priority in our mind. Try to achieve this goal as soon as possible.

6. Prepare for the future:

“The lack of money is the root of all evil.” — Mark Twain

Provide in advance. Keep a small investment every week or month regularly for old age. Invest in properties that will grow in value for the future.

7. Desire to become rich:

Make a burning desire to become wealthy. Sharpen your skills. Increase your ability of your craft. No matter what your work is there should always be progress so that the streams of income will keep flowing and increasing. Study about your work, your skills, about money or investments and become wiser.

“Spend your money on the things money can buy. Spend your time on the things money can’t buy.” — Haruki Murakami (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle)
