Money Beliefs: Rich Mind vs. Poor Mind

Money Beliefs: Rich Mind vs. Poor Mind

“Bless that which you want. If you see a person with a beautiful home, bless that person and bless that home. If you see a person with a beautiful car, bless that person and bless that car. If you see a person with a loving family, bless that person and bless that family. If you see a person with a beautiful body, bless that person and bless their body.”— T. Harv Eker

What do you feel about the topic of money? Is it something you enjoy talking about or it makes you feel uncomfortable?

I have been reading and listening to life altering books and seminars by T. Harv Eker and would love to share some titbits of knowledge with the readers that are always hungry for knowledge that makes life amazing well in this particular case rich.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is one of the best works of T. Harv Eker as I said earlier it can change lives. All we need to do is study our thoughts and feelings about money and we can change our financial condition for good.

Harv like many other success couches teaches us about the power of our mind and how it is controlling everything in our life especially our financial status.

He explains this with a simple example of a tree. The fruits (Money) depend upon the quality of roots (thoughts, emotions, action). When we understand this law of nature a positive shift takes place in our life.

“If you want to change the fruits, you will first have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.” — T. Harv Eker”

Everything is energy. Money is also energy. In fact money is a result of our Mental, Emotional and Spiritual condition.

Thought leads to Feeling leads to Action which leads to Result.

Let us understand how our thoughts can make us rich or poor. Let us notice the different beliefs of a rich mind and a poor mind. If you are struggling financially may be you need to notice your beliefs and make some healthy changes. I hope the below given examples help you as much as they helped me.

Rich Mind Vs. Poor Mind

Rich Mind Vs. Poor Mind

1) Rich Mind thinks (I create my life) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Life happens to me)

A rich mind believes in creating own life with his/her own thoughts and decisions on the other hand the poor mind believes life happens to him/her.

This single belief controls the destiny of our life. If we believe we create our life then we have control to get us out of any unwanted situation by controlling our thoughts, emotions and actions around that situation.

2) Rich Mind thinks (There is no rich victim) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Victim: Blame, Justify & Complain)

Rich Minds try to learn a lesson from any adverse situation. They never ever see themselves as a victim.

However Poor Minds enjoy the attention or sympathy they receive from being a victim. They blame everyone and everything else for their troubles, they justify their failures and they complain about everything and everyone.

Harv warns his students against blaming, justifying or complaining. He says; “Whenever one blames, justifies or complains s/he slits his/her financial throat.”

What we focus on expands. Complainers become a giant crap magnet.

Harv suggests his student to take on a challenge – 7 Days without any complains. Miraculous things can happen if you can spend 7 days or more without a single complain about anything. You cannot blame or complain out loud or even in your mind. If you find yourself doing it unconsciously cancel the thought and redirect your mind to something pleasant.

3) Rich Mind thinks (Goal is to get rich) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Goal is to get comfortable)

A rich person tries to get or stay rich and he does not care about comfort or convince or if things are difficult.

A poor person looks for easy, comfortable and hopes on getting rich by staying in his comfort zone.

“If you are willing to do only what’s easy, life will be hard. But if you are willing to do what’s hard, life will be easy.” — T. Harv Eker

4) Rich Mind thinks (Play to Win) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Play not to Lose)

Every challenge is an opportunity to win for a Rich Mind. On the other hand a Poor Mind steps consciously in a challenge if s/he absolutely has to with a hope that s/he will not lose.

5) Rich Mind thinks (Everything) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Either / Or)

A Rich Mind understands that true wealth comes from abundance in all areas of life. S/he strives hard for health, happiness, family, spirituality and all major aspects of live along with wealth.

Conversely, a Poor Mind believes s/he will have to scarify his/her health or relationships or something important if s/he tries to acquire wealth.

6) Rich Mind thinks (Admire & Model) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Resent & Envy)

Rich Minds love to be in the company of other successful people. They admire the qualities that make people wealthy. They learn from influential people. They try to model methods of successful people to reach their own goals. They learn from the experiences of others and are a knowledge soaking sponge.

Poor Minds resent successful people. They avoid them and envy them. They try to find fault in them and close their minds towards any wisdom coming from them as they feel inferior to learn from others.

7) Rich Mind thinks (Bigger than their Problem) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Smaller than their Problem)

Rich Minds try to make themselves stronger and bigger than any problem they might be facing. They attack their problems armed with knowledge and dedication. They treat problems as stepping stones as they are aware that it is temporary hurdle and overcoming it will help them grow.

Poor Minds complain and make their problems bigger than they actually are. They let fear overcome them. They think about the worst outcome and try to avoid the problem. They give up great opportunities when they face hurdles.

8) Rich Mind thinks (Results) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Reasons)

A Rich Mind focuses on results. They are concerned about the goal, the end product of any act. They do not care about the hurdles as they have their eyes set on the final prize.

A Poor Mind focuses on reasons or excuses while trying to achieve any target.

9) Rich Mind thinks (Learn & Grow) – Vs – Poor Mind thinks (Already Knows)

A Rich Mind is constantly willing to learn and grow. A Poor Mind closes itself from anything new. It creates an attitude of already knowing enough and avoids studying.

Do Some Acting to Lose Weight or Achieve Any Desire

Do Some Acting to Lose Weight or Achieve Any Desire
Do Some Acting to Lose Weight or Achieve Any DesireWagner Machado Carlos Lemes / Foter / Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 Generic (CC BY 2.0)

“If it is not easy, if it is not effortless, then you are not doing it right!” – Harry W. Carpenter.

Warning this post may sound out of this world or you may think I have lost my mind but if the method works for you does it matter where the idea comes from? I don’t think so.

So what is this weird trick or idea? Well the title is kind of a giveaway. As you know that just like the readers of this blog I am fascinated with the power of our mind. I read whatever I can find about mind and its contribution in shaping our life and I found a common theme which most of the experts in this field talk about. They always mention ideas about turning thoughts into desires or things.

Many have been successful to achieve desired results by following visualization strategies that help thoughts shape our reality. Changing our old habits with thoughts can be bit challenging and time taking and I believe Acting can be an interesting way to help our subconscious mind absorb the idea.

Everyone knows how to act. We give great performances throughout our life. You don’t believe me then just remember all the childhood days where you acted to get out of trouble when you did some mischief or when you laugh your head off at a poor joke told by your boss or the smile you give when your in-laws visit. See everyone is a great actor. Peace in our life depends on acting so let’s use this skill for good.

I am currently reading a very interesting book “The Genie Within Your Subconscious Mind – How It Works and How To Use It” by Harry W. Carpenter. It is a fascinating book on the power of our mind over our life. Mr. Carpenter gives a small exercise to act out as we have already achieved our goal. The subconscious mind will understand and take note of our exact desire if we repeatedly fed it by acting out our reaction to the end result.

Does this seem childish or to simple to be true? As I said earlier if it works why not give it a try. Let us take an example of someone trying to lose weight. If that person constantly feeds his mind with negative thoughts and talks like I am too fat, I will never lose this extra weight or I don’t want to be so fat; his/her subconscious mind will pick up on the word fat and keep that person fat as long as he keeps updating his mind with this information.

It is exactly like a genie ready for a command from master and whatever the master highlights on he gets. So let’s turn this in our favor by concentrating on what we want. Don’t say vague goals like I want to get thinner. Write down exactly what you want like “I want to weigh ___(your ideal weight) or less”, or “I want my dress size to be __(your ideal dress size)”.

Act Example 1: Take your weighing scale, cover its reading area with a piece of paper and write your ideal weight on it. Now every morning step on it, look at the perfect weight and act out the joy you will feel when you would actually reach that weight. Act out the celebration and feel grateful for the achievement.

Act Example 2: You can visualize that you are in your favorite store and you picked up a beautiful dress in your ideal dress size. You tried it on and it fit perfectly. Stand in front of a full length mirror and act as if you are in the store and are admiring the beautiful dress for you in your ideal dress size. Act out a conversation with a store salesperson or a friend about how wonderful that dress looks on you.

Make the desired goal weight number or dress size number your magic number and constantly remind yourself that you weigh the perfect healthy weight. Write the number everywhere you can see and fed your subconscious with what you want.

Believe me the power of mind does work wonders. Once it takes note of your desire it will change its old programming and make changes in the body as per your new commands.

It is just like placing anniversary gift idea hints for your husband. I know many ladies will understand what I am trying to say here. Reprogramming our stubborn subconscious mind is time taking. It will need creativity, commitment and faith but once you get your subconscious mind on your side losing weight or achieving any other goal can be done on auto pilot.

Give it a try and if you do succeed using this or similar technique please share with us. To get more such ideas I recommend you to read “The Genie Within Your Subconscious Mind – How It Works and How To Use It” by Harry W. Carpenter.

What is the purpose of life? Why are we here?

What is the purpose of life? Why are we here?

What is the purpose of life? Why are we here?

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” — Eleanor Roosevelt.

Did this question ever cross your mind? I am sure at least once in your life you must have taken a pause for just minutes and asked yourself “Why am I here? What is the purpose of my life?”

Was there an answer that came up from within your mind, heart or soul? If yes did it feel right? There are millions of questions regarding our purpose of life and no one but the person living that particular life can come up with the right answer.

I love movies as much as I love books and some movies just like some books get a special place in my heart as they teach me something that I was desperate to learn. “Hugo” is one of those special movies and one scene in it has made an imprint in my mind. It beautifully tells us about our purpose and our importance in world.

If you have seen “Hugo” you can easily guess the scene but for those who are yet to see this amazing movie I am happy to paste the clip here.

In the most simple words Hugo explains how everything even non living machines have a purpose and a person who has lost his/her purpose is broken. He also tells that the whole world is a big machine and as machine never comes with extra parts, we fit perfectly in the world that means we are here for a reason.

Now when we know that we are here for a reason then doesn’t it become our top most priority to find out our purpose of life?

Here is a solution to find out the purpose of your life (but this will require a lot of time and patience):

Write on a sheet of paper or in a word document a list of things that come to your mind when you ask yourself “What is my purpose?” Keep writing till you find an answer that you strongly feel about and cannot think of anything else as your purpose after that answer.

The stronger you feel about something the higher the chance that is your purpose or your role in this big divine machine we call the world.

“Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” — Aristotle

Napoleon Hill’s 6 Steps to Turn Desires into Reality

Think and Grow Rich

“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.” — Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” is one of those few books that you can find on the recommended list of almost every successful person. In fact some even give this book truly deserving credit for their success. Think and Grow Rich is a life transforming book. It changes the reader thinking and behavior and gives the reader a push towards success.

“Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire brings a small amount of heat.” — Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill researched for 25 years and studied behavior of 500 successful people to find out the formula for success. This book was introduced in 1937 and it’s teachings is as much relevant today as it was in that time.

“An educated man is not, necessarily, one who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge. An educated man is one who has so developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants, or its equivalent, without violating the rights of others.” — Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill is like a strict no-nonsense professor who wants all his students to thrive. This book is loaded with wisdom that we can apply in our life and become successful in any field we try. This is not some magic beans story or some baseless wishful thinking that can play with your head and emotions but a proper disciplined method of achieving great success.

“Whatever your mind can conceive, you can achieve.” — Napolean Hill

The people mentioned in this book are the most successful people in history and these principles, methods, habits or discipline are drown from their journey to achieve an extraordinary life.

Step 1: Fix in mind the exact amount of money you desire.

Step 2: Determined what you intend to give in return for the money you desire.

Step 3: Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.

Step 4: Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not to put this plan into action.

Step 5: Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Step 6: Read your statement aloud, twice daily, once just before bed and once after rising in the morning. As you read see and feel and believe yourself already in possession of the money.

These steps are scrutinize and approved by Thomas A. Edison who gave his seal of approval on these steps not only to acquire riches but achieve any goal.

“Your only limitation is the one you set up in your own mind!” — Napolean Hill

3 Mistakes you are probably making while you Pray

Rodfæstet

Yesterday I got the privilege to watch an interview of Marianne Williamson – a bestselling author.

She mentioned a small prayer just three lines in the interview and it captured my attention.

• Where would you have me go?
• What would you have me do?
• What would you have me say and to whom?

I find this prayer a perfect way to communicate with the creator you can call him God or Universe or the Holy Spirit or anything you believe in. I immediately noted it and now it is the prayer I love saying morning and night. This prayer also got me thinking of the mistakes most of us do while praying.

Mistakes while praying:

1. Not Appreciating: This is the worst mistake one does while praying. We receive many blessing in our life but we take it as our birth right without ever saying a word of appreciation. We just keep asking for more. How would you react to a child who constantly asks for more and more toys or sweets and never show any appreciation about it? I always hear parents forcing their kids to say thank you to friends and family for any gifts. But do we say thank you enough; I don’t think so. Just add a genuine appreciation for anything you are grateful for to your prayer. It doesn’t even have to be a recent blessing. Be Grateful as Gratitude is the key to happiness.

2. No Faith: I heard this in one of the seminars by Jack Canfield where he mentions about how we lack faith. “When we place an order to Domino’s Pizza we do not call them after every 5 to 10 minutes to check if they will surely do the delivery. Then why cannot we show some faith in our creator.” It must get annoying for the almighty to hear the same thing again and again. Plus our doubts always act as hurdles for our blessings that are trying to reach us.

3. Begging: This may sound harsh but if you hear what we say to God in our prayers it sounds as if we are begging. “Dear God Please do this, please give me that, blah blah blah”. We forget that God is our creator who wants to see us thrive but nothing is going to be served to us on a silver platter. God helps those who help themselves but we have to initiate. Instead offer our service to fulfill the divine order. Everything is a part of the divine order by fulfilling our role we achieve everything we are meant to achieve in the easiest and fastest way. This is preciously what is mentioned in the prayer above. Ask the creator how we can fulfill our role and God will guide us to reach our highest level. If we want to see the creator we can look at nature. It is all about abundance, no lack, no limitation. A seed knows it’s role and it develop into a huge tree similarly there is abundance in all aspects for us if we let creator take charge and guide us to fulfill our destiny or role in this divine order. We are meant to be abundant, happy, and peaceful. The lack is what we create by our own limiting believes mainly about scarcity, adjustment and sacrifices.

“Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good only. You need not have any regrets for the past. You need not worry for the future. The present is happening.” – The Bhagavad Gita

Marianne Williamson books <a href=”(Get Here) are a must read if you want to understand the importance of Love and Spirituality (which means the same for me) in our life.

Take Action Towards Goal – Lord’s Hanuman’s Teaching About Following One’s Bliss.

Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman

As per my Hindu upbringing I believe that God has many forms. Lord Hanuman (The Monkey God) is one of the most amazing one. The tales or legends about this lord can put any super hero comic to shame. If you study about the qualities of Lord Hanuman you will understand how this divine mythological character is powerful and strong also an inspiration to many Superheroes and Mutants that we find so entertaining.

Before the start of this year I accompanied my friends to visit some ancient temples. This was a trip to explore some new places and get blessings for the coming year ahead. As we were visiting various temples devoted to different forms of God one of my friend who is a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman stood in the Hanuman temple for a longer time as he was chanting a long prayer. The rest of us scattered around to notice the beauty of that temple which was built centuries ago.

I noticed a very peaceful holy man sitting on the steps outside. I don’t know what provoked me to go and talk to him but I did. I asked him in Hindi, “If I need to take one teaching from Lord Hanuman to bring some order to my life. What shall it be?” He smiled and looked at me. After taking a long breath he replied; “Find a God and devote yourself to it.” I did not understand. I thought he was talking about a form of God that we Hindus worship like Lord Shiv or Lord Vishu or Lord Hanuman himself. When he saw me confused he further said “Karma he Dharma hai” that means “Work is worship.”

To make sure I understand correctly I asked him does this mean if I devote myself to my work, I will follow the right path. He corrected me by saying “a work of your liking not any work” that’s what he meant by “Find a God.” So I was at this ancient temple in a small town and I received this life changing advice to “follow my bliss” from a holy man who looked very peaceful because he was following his own. Before I reached home I made a decision to devote myself to my passion, you guessed it right “Writing!”

Lord Hanuman is mostly associated with his strength, his power, his discipline even his vow of celibacy but his unconditional devotion to Lord Rama is the teaching we need to understand and incorporate in our life. Our talent is a gift from God what we do with it is our gift back.

So what’s your bliss or passion? Please do share I would love to know?
